DIGI+ will be managed by the Programme Co-ordinator (PC), assisted by the DIGI+ Programme Manager (PM), and supported by the DIGI+ Operational Support Team (OST) and the host support and administration. The project is governed by the DIGI+ Steering Committee (SC) and advised by an Advisory Board (AB).

Financial Management

DIGI+ Supervisory Board (SB)

The SB is responsible for policy and dealing with any scientific misconduct or research integrity. The SB will meet every 6 months (online or in person) and will be responsible for providing feedback on the programme, monitoring fellows’ progress by assessing various reports.

Members:

All DIGI+ primary and secondment supervisors and two DIGI+ fellow representatives (elected by the fellows on a rotational basis)

 

DIGI+ Steering Committee (SC)

The SC is the ultimate decision-making body in DIGI+. This group will meet quarterly to approve funding decisions, review project progress, reports to REA, advise on project strategic direction, sustainability, policy, and agree on adjustments for the subsequent period.

Members:

Project Coordinator (PC), NUIM-Director of Research Development; Director of Lero, Director of Adapt (Prof. Andrea Back), University of St. Gallen (Switzerland), Mayo County Council (Dr. Beatrice Heneghan), and CastleBridge Associates Ltd. (Mr Daragh O’Brien) and a nominee from the Irish Universities Association.
The SC will be advised by an Advisory Board, with 3 representatives from the non-academic sector (i.e. Ruth Buckley (County Council Cork), Cornel Klein (Siemens Germany), Hans Hille (Canon Europe Netherlands)) and 3 academics not resident in Ireland (i.e. Jan vom Brocke (University Lichtenstein); Barbara Pernici (Politecnico di Milano, Italy), Stephanie Woerner (MIT Management Sloan School, USA)).

DIGI+ Project Manager (PM)

The PM will ensure appropriate support is provided to the fellows within each host. The PM will work closely with the PC, and they will meet weekly or more frequently if required. The PM will liaise and be supported by the Operational Support Team (OST) and by all academic hosts internal support services (Research Office, finance, marketing, and communication, etc). The PM will meet these teams at least once a month, or when required, for updates, planning and execution of the programme.

 

DIGI+ Operational Support Team (OST)

The OST is responsible for providing operational support to the PC and PM in matters related to communication and dissemination, EPE, IP, secondments, training and development, finance, HR, etc. OST will be the main point of support for the PC and PM in all aspects of the programme, defining strategy and tasks.

Members:

IVI Operations Manager, NUIM Research Finance Officer, NUIM Research Development Officer, NUIM Director of Development and External Relations and Commercialisation Executive, as well as ADAPT EPE Manager, Lero EPE Manager, the ADAPT IP Manager, Lero Business development manager.

Financial Management:

DIGI+ will follow REA regulations and guidelines on financial implementation and management. The PC, supported by the PM, will be responsible for the programme’s financial management. The PM, with support from the NUIM Research & Finance Office, will provide financial management support and liaise with the finance offices of the DIGI+ partners. All DIGI+ implementing partners have controls and procedures in place to monitor and produce the financial figures and cost statements for auditing purposes demanded by REA.
