Researchers at Risk
Home Researchers at Risk
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (MSCA) enable displaced researchers moving to Europe to continue their careers through the provision of funding and support.
As an MSCA programme, DIGI+ will support applications from researchers who are displaced by conflict, or whose situation makes it difficult to pursue their research careers, both during the application process and once on the Fellowship in Ireland.
Support will be provided on a case-by-case basis, both during the application process and during the fellowship programme.
Available support may include:
- Submission of applications by post where online application requirements discriminate against the researcher’s personal circumstances
- Application of eligibility criteria appropriately to ensure researchers who have suspended their activities while seeking refugee status are not disadvantaged
- Remote interviews using commonly accessible video conferencing (i.e. skype, Teams) where necessary
- Provision of additional supports during the fellow’s integration phase including the 1:1 support of the DIGI+ Project Manager
- Collaboration with Scholars at Risk Europe, hosted at NUIM with the European office of the global Scholars at Risk net- work and the Inspireurope+ Project
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR APPLICANTS WHO HAVE APPLIED FOR REFUGEE STATUS IN IRELAND: The time spent in the refugee status will not be counted as time resident in Ireland.
